Ho Hsien Ku – the immortal woman (or health goddess) – is one of the Eight Immortals of the Taoist pantheon. At a young age, a god approached her in a dream and instructed her to eat stones in order to achieve immortality.
She is the healer of both physical and emotional wounds. Ho Hsien Ku brings happiness and luck to one’s life.
Tsao Kuo Chiou is another of the Eight Immortals of the Taoist pantheon. Because his brother committed atrocious crimes, he decided to dedicate his life and family’s fortune to helping the poor and vulnerable. While living a reclusive life, he encountered another immortal who taught him magic, eventually resulting in his own immortality. Tsao Kuo Chiou is the patron deity of actors/actresses and theater.
