THE POSSIBILITY OF EVIL

Münchner Kammerspiele, March 2024

Based on a short story by Shirley Jackson

A strong, seductive smell of roses fills the air along Pleasant Street. And Miss Strangeworth loves her roses. For Miss Strangeworth, roses mean home and home means the Strangeworth House on Pleasant Street. This impeccable older woman and her beautiful house are the neighborhood’s anchor. She’s the third generation of Strangworths to live in the house: everyone knows her and she knows everyone. Yet nobody would suspect that the well-respected Miss Strangeworth leads a double-life. Her secret pleasure will eventually bring about the downfall of the entire community.
